In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, plaintiffs Maria De Santiago and Jamie Cuya have filed a lawsuit against defendant Sergio Medina. The court case ID is 2024-23530 and it was filed on April 12, 2024.

The plaintiffs, represented by Christopher Matthews, allege that Medina's negligence caused a vehicular collision on November 21, 2022. They claim that Medina failed to control his speed and maintain a safe distance, resulting in injuries to both plaintiffs. The incident occurred in the 100 block of FM 1960 Rd., Harris County.

The lawsuit states that Medina violated several local ordinances and state traffic laws which constitute negligence per se. These violations include willful or wanton disregard for safety and failure to control speed or maintain an assured clear distance.

De Santiago and Cuya are seeking monetary relief over $250,000 but not more than $1,000,000 for damages sustained as a direct result of the defendant's actions.
