Joann Marshall has filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies, Inc., Raiser, LLC, and an individual identified as John Doe in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The case ID is 2024-22670 and was filed on April 10, 2024.

Marshall, a resident of Harris County, alleges that on November 17, 2022, she was walking in a Walmart parking lot when John Doe, driving for Uber and Raiser at the time, nearly hit her with his vehicle. The incident caused Marshall to fall and sustain significant injuries requiring medical attention.

The plaintiff accuses John Doe of breaching his duty of care by failing to maintain a single lane or control vehicle speed among other things. She further claims that these actions were committed while he was employed by Uber and Raiser.

Marshall is seeking monetary relief over $200 but not more than $1 million from the defendants for damages related to her injuries. She reserves the right to amend her petition during or after the discovery process.
