HOUSTON - A personal injury lawsuit seeking more than $1 million in damages has been brought against CenterPoint Energy and United Locating Services of Texas.

Alleging negligence, Robert Riles filed his suit on April 26 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on July 28, 2022, Riles was helping an acquaintance build a new fence. The property owner had contacted CenterPoint to mark underground utility lines. Afterward, as Riles was digging, he contacted an unmarked active electrical line, causing him to be electrocuted and thrown back.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney M. Andrew Seerden of The Seerden Law Firm.
