HOUSTON - A man is suing TotalEnergies American Services for third degree burns he suffered after coming in contact with a 4500-volt wire.

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, Aaron Velazquez filed his suit in Harris County District Court, also naming TotalEnergies Renewables USA as a defendant.

He is represented by attorney Bilaal Badat, along with attorneys from Abraham Watkins.

According to the lawsuit, on April 4 Velazquez was working at the defendants’ Danish Fields project in Danevang, Texas when he made contact with a 4500-volt wire.

“As a result, Plaintiff suffered third degree burns to his hands, chest, and thighs,” the suit states. “Plaintiff sustained serious and significant injuries as a result of the Incident.”

The suit alleges the defendants negligently failed to supervise and properly maintain the equipment.
