Cory Aldridge has filed a negligence complaint against Dr. Joseph Sleiman, M.D., and his associated medical practices, Clinic 45 Medical Practice, PLLC, and Clinic 45 Weight Loss, LLC. The complaint was filed on May 22, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas.

According to the court documents, Cory Aldridge underwent a bilateral gynecomastia procedure performed by Dr. Joseph Sleiman at Clinic 45 on January 6, 2023. The plaintiff alleges that the procedure was not conducted properly and resulted in severe post-operative complications including a large hematoma and significant swelling in the chest area. Aldridge subsequently sought further treatment from a plastic surgeon who informed him on January 19, 2023, that the initial procedure had been incorrectly performed and that a drain should have been placed to prevent such complications.

The following day, January 20, 2023, Aldridge underwent an additional surgical procedure to address these issues which included exploration of open wounds, incision irrigation and debridement, evacuation of bilateral hematomas, drain placement, and complex wound closure. Despite these efforts, Aldridge claims he has been left with permanent scarring and has required multiple revision procedures.

The lawsuit asserts that Dr. Sleiman's management of Aldridge's care fell below the accepted standard of medical practice. Specific allegations include failure to properly plan the procedure, use of improperly sized tools during surgery, inadequate performance of the surgery itself, and insufficient post-operative care. These actions are claimed to be direct violations of established medical standards which resulted in significant physical pain and mental anguish for Aldridge.

Aldridge is seeking monetary relief exceeding $1 million for various damages including past and future physical pain and mental anguish; past and future physical impairment; past and future physical disfigurement; loss of earning capacity; as well as reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred both previously and anticipated in the future.

Representing Cory Aldridge are attorneys Gabe Sassin (State Bar Number: 24060557) and Tommy R. Hastings (State Bar Number: 24003166) from Hastings Law Firm P.C., located at 26503 Oak Ridge Drive Suite 103 The Woodlands Texas 77380. The case has been assigned Case ID No. 2024-32412 with Judge Talitha McCarty presiding over Court No.133.
