Robert Dorsey has filed a personal injury lawsuit against Valencia Grove Apartments, Valencia Grove Holdings, LLC, and Valencia Grove Management, LLC. The complaint was filed in the Harris County District Court on May 20, 2024.

According to the court documents, Robert Dorsey alleges that he sustained injuries on April 1, 2024, while visiting his girlfriend at the Valencia Grove Apartments located at 11810 Algonquin in Houston, Texas. Dorsey claims that one of the stairs broke as he was descending them, causing him to fall and suffer significant injuries. He contends that the defendants were negligent in maintaining their premises and failed to provide a safe environment for visitors.

The plaintiff's petition outlines several specific allegations of negligence against the defendants. These include failing to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition, failing to correct hazardous conditions, failing to warn invitees of dangerous conditions, and failing to properly inspect the premises. Additionally, Dorsey accuses the defendants of not adequately training their employees and not implementing proper safety policies.

Dorsey's legal team argues that as an invitee on the property, he was owed a duty of care by the defendants. They claim that this duty was breached due to the dangerous condition of the stairs and that this breach directly caused Dorsey's injuries. The lawsuit seeks damages for medical expenses incurred both in the past and anticipated in the future, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, loss of earning capacity both past and future, and exemplary damages.

In his prayer for relief, Dorsey requests that judgment be entered against all defendants jointly and severally for an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court. He also seeks pre-judgment interest from the date of injury through to judgment date at the maximum rate allowed by law; post-judgment interest at the legal rate; costs of court; and any other relief deemed appropriate by law or equity.

Representing Robert Dorsey are attorneys Jordan A. Glaze (Texas Bar No. 24059826), Josh Garrett (Texas Bar No. 24067616), and Greg Geddie (Texas Bar No. 24116419) from Glaze | Garrett law firm based in Gilmer, Texas. The case is presided over by Judge Marilyn Burgess under Case ID: 2024-31826 in Court: 269.
