Why did you select Texas Law?
As a returning Longhorn, I knew that the career and academic support I would receive at Texas Law would be unparalleled, as would be the opportunities provided. I wanted to go to a law school that allowed me to explore all my interests equally, so committing to Texas Law was an easy decision to make!
You have musical talents in multiple areas. How has this musical training shaped your life experiences?
My training started with piano when I was 3 years old. I later joined my school orchestra on violin and began training in voice in the fifth grade. I was soon attending private lessons across three instruments several times a week, playing with my school orchestra and choir, practicing for hours daily, and performing in recitals and competitions. Having trained in Singapore, Taiwan, Idaho, and California, I would say the most interesting life experience my musical training led to was getting to learn from artists globally. For example, my voice teacher in Taiwan had trained at the Royal Academy of Music, while my voice teacher in Idaho had performed on opera tours all across Europe! Learning from these maestros taught me dedication to my craft and what discipline truly means.
Who and what inspires you?
My family and close friends. Their strength, achievements, and drive have always paved the path forward for me.
If you could choose three dream dinner party guests — real or fictional, famous or personal, alive or not — who would they be, and why?
My dream dinner party guests would be Jane Fonda, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Condoleezza Rice. I’d love to have a conversation with these pioneering women so that I could learn from their wisdom and experience.
What is your favorite law-related movie – and why?
Definitely “My Cousin Vinny,” mostly because I love Marisa Tomei’s character and her iconic turn of providing the key testimony of the case!
What are you looking forward to as a student at Texas Law?
I’m excited to meet my classmates, learn from the faculty, and get started on this incredible journey!
