Janet Rae Parsons, as the executrix of her father's estate, has filed a lawsuit in Harris County against a nursing home and associated medical personnel for alleged negligence leading to her father's severe health decline. The complaint was lodged on November 1, 2024, naming CCRC OPCO - Gleannloch Farms, LLC, operating as The Village at Gleannloch Farms; Trumen Physicians and Associates, PLLC; and Dr. Charles Loc Nguyen as defendants.

The case revolves around the care provided to Johnny Ray Parsons at The Village at Gleannloch Farms nursing home following his admission on August 1, 2022. Janet Rae Parsons claims that her father was admitted for rehabilitation after knee surgery complications but suffered from inadequate medical attention during his stay. She alleges that the nursing home and its staff failed to properly monitor his condition or respond to alarming lab results indicating potential kidney failure. Despite showing symptoms such as vision issues and confusion—signs of deteriorating health—the staff allegedly did not act promptly or transfer him to a hospital when necessary.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of negligence in several areas: failing to address Mr. Parsons' symptoms related to kidney failure, neglecting abnormal lab results, not assessing his mental confusion adequately, and failing to provide appropriate supervision and training for their employees. Furthermore, it claims that these failures resulted in Mr. Parsons suffering acute renal failure shortly after being discharged from the facility on August 21, 2022. He required emergency dialysis and never fully recovered his previous state of health.

Janet Rae Parsons is seeking damages exceeding $200,000 but less than $1 million for the physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses incurred by her father before his death, and punitive damages due to what she describes as reckless conduct by the defendants. She also demands a jury trial and challenges certain Texas statutory limits on non-economic damages as unconstitutional.

Representing Janet Rae Parsons are attorneys Angela Spears and Marian S. Rosen from Rosen & Spears law firm. The case is presided over by Judge Jarod Stirrup in the 80th District Court under Case ID 2024-76673.
