A lawsuit has been filed in Harris County, Texas, bringing to light a serious injury incident at a popular entertainment venue. On December 4, 2024, Ariana Grayson lodged a complaint against Jumping World Inc., Jumping World USA, Inc., and Festival Properties, Inc. The filing was made in the District Court of Harris County under Case No. 2024-84809.
The case revolves around an unfortunate event that occurred on February 5, 2023, when Grayson visited the Jumping World location at 14147 Northeast Freeway in Houston. According to the petition, Grayson was injured while using the trampoline facilities after being assured by an employee that special "grip socks" were unnecessary for safety. This assurance led to her attempting to jump without them, resulting in a broken ankle due to alleged negligent maintenance of the trampolines.
Grayson's legal action accuses the defendants of failing to maintain safe premises and not warning about potential dangers. The lawsuit claims that these failures constitute negligence and premises liability under Texas law. Specifically, it alleges that the defendants did not inform visitors about the necessity of grip socks and failed to secure areas with faulty equipment. These omissions are argued to be direct causes of Grayson's injuries.
The plaintiff is seeking monetary compensation exceeding $1 million for medical expenses incurred and anticipated future costs related to her injuries. She also seeks damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings and earning capacity, as well as property damage associated with the incident.
Represented by attorney James D. Burkhalter from Smith & Hassler law firm, Grayson demands a jury trial for this case presided over by Judge Taiasha Bradford in the 61st Judicial District Court of Harris County.
