A Houston resident has filed a lawsuit against a local seafood restaurant, alleging negligence after a dining experience went awry. Carlos Deleon lodged the complaint on December 19, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, targeting Willie G's Post Oak, LLC and its associated entities.

According to the petition, Deleon visited Willie G’s Seafood on December 4, 2024. During his visit as a paying customer, he consumed shrimp that allegedly made him feel ill. As he proceeded to the restroom to address his discomfort, he encountered a hazardous substance on the floor which caused him to slip and fall. This incident resulted in serious injuries and significant consequential damages for Deleon. The plaintiff claims that the hazard was unreasonably dangerous and that the restaurant's staff either negligently created or failed to address it despite having sufficient time to do so.

Deleon's lawsuit accuses Willie G’s Post Oak and Landry’s GP Inc., both operating under Willie G’s Seafood, of premises liability and common law negligence. He argues that as a business invitee, he was owed a duty of care by the defendants to maintain safe premises. The suit details how the defendants' failure to inspect their premises for dangerous conditions or adequately warn patrons about them constitutes negligence. Deleon contends that this breach directly led to his injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for damages including physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, physical impairment, disfigurement, medical expenses past and future, as well as pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest rate allowed by law. Additionally, Deleon demands compensation for lost household services due to his injuries.

Representing Carlos Deleon is attorney Jeffrey N. Todd from The Todd Law Group PLLC. The case is filed under Case ID 2024-88186 in the 152nd Judicial District Court of Harris County with Judge Marilyn Burgess presiding.
