Froylan Flores has filed a lawsuit against M/I Homes of Houston, LLC, following a serious injury he sustained while working at one of their construction sites. The complaint was officially lodged on January 10, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. Flores alleges that his injuries were a direct result of negligence on the part of M/I Homes.

The incident in question occurred on July 29, 2023, at a construction site located at 8510 Sun Coral Drive in Cypress, Harris County. According to the petition filed by Flores' legal team from Huynh Law PLLC, he was performing his duties when he fell through a ceiling due to what is described as "improper framing and decking" on the second floor. This fall resulted in severe and permanent injuries for Flores. The lawsuit claims that M/I Homes failed to maintain a safe work environment and neglected to warn or protect its workers from dangerous conditions present at the job site.

Flores' petition outlines several accusations against M/I Homes under premises liability and negligence laws. It states that the company did not exercise ordinary care to ensure safety on their premises nor did they take reasonable steps to eliminate risks or warn employees like Flores about them. Furthermore, it accuses M/I Homes of failing to provide adequate training and supervision for their workers and not establishing necessary safety protocols. These failures allegedly led directly to the accident and subsequent injuries suffered by Flores.

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for damages including past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, and loss of earning capacity. Additionally, Flores demands a jury trial for this case.

Representing Froylan Flores are attorneys Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh, Pavel “Paul” Savinov, Michael Alvarez, and Jay M. Taylor from Huynh Law PLLC based in Houston. The case has been assigned Case ID 2025-02035 in the 269th Judicial District Court of Harris County.
