Ramika L. Mathes has filed a lawsuit against a major retail corporation, alleging negligence after sustaining injuries on the company's premises. The complaint was filed by Mathes in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on April 16, 2025, targeting Dolgencorp of Texas, Inc., as the defendant.

According to the court documents, Ramika L. Mathes claims that she suffered personal injuries while shopping at DG Market located at 1455 Gears Rd., Houston, Texas, on September 17, 2024. As an invitee on the property, Mathes was there for shopping purposes when she tripped and slipped on flattened boxes that were negligently left unattended on the floor. The lawsuit alleges that this incident was a direct result of an unreasonably dangerous condition that Dolgencorp of Texas knew about but failed to correct or warn her about. Mathes asserts that she had no prior knowledge of this hazardous condition and insists that her conduct was reasonable and prudent throughout the incident.

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief amounting to less than $250,000 for damages caused by what she describes as negligence on part of Dolgencorp of Texas. She lists several forms of compensation including past and future medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish both past and future, as well as past and future physical impairment resulting from her injuries. Additionally, Mathes requests prejudgment and post-judgment interest along with coverage for court costs.

Represented by attorney Donald G. DeSimone from DeSimone Law Office in Houston, Texas, Ramika L. Mathes is pursuing this legal action under Discovery Plan Level 2 as per Rule 190.2 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. The petition also includes a request for disclosures from Dolgencorp within fifty days as described in Rule 194.2.

This case is being presided over in Harris County due to jurisdictional propriety since the alleged incident occurred there. It falls within the jurisdictional limits concerning damages sought in this court setting.

Attorney Donald G. DeSimone represents Ramika L. Mathes in this matter with Case ID: 2025-26870 filed under Judge Marilyn Burgess's district clerkship at Harris County District Court.
