In a shocking incident that has brought a legal battle to the forefront, a woman claims she suffered severe injuries at a birthday party due to the negligence of her hosts. Jessica Jeanneth Gurrola Barrios filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on April 15, 2025, against Darlenys Diaz Garcia and Jesus Martinez Izaguirre. The case revolves around an unfortunate accident involving a mechanical bull ride.

According to the lawsuit filed by Jessica Jeanneth Gurrola Barrios, she was attending a birthday party at the residence of Darlenys Diaz Garcia and Jesus Martinez Izaguirre on October 29, 2023. During the festivities, she decided to try out a mechanical bull that was being operated by the defendants. The plaintiff alleges that neither of the defendants had any training or experience in operating such equipment. As a result of their negligence, Barrios was thrown off the bull and suffered significant injuries, including losing her front four teeth. The lawsuit accuses Garcia and Izaguirre of failing to operate the mechanical bull safely, not requiring safety gear for riders, and neglecting to warn guests about potential dangers.

Barrios is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for her injuries. Her petition outlines various damages she hopes to recover from this lawsuit: past and future medical expenses; compensation for pain and suffering; physical impairment; and disfigurement caused by her injuries. She also demands pre-judgment interest on any awarded damages as well as post-judgment interest until payment is made in full.

Represented by attorneys Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh, Pavel "Paul" Savinov, and Michael Alvarez from Huynh Law PLLC based in Houston Texas - Barrios emphasizes that this legal action is necessary due to personal injuries sustained because of defendant's actions or omissions which constitute negligence under Texas law.

The court filing bears Case ID number 2025-26381 with Judge Rhonda Momon presiding over proceedings at Harris County’s 152nd Judicial District Courtroom where it was submitted electronically via e-service email address eservice@huynhlaw.com provided by plaintiff’s counsel team led by Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh who holds State Bar Number (SBN)24092558 alongside colleagues Pavel “Paul” Savinov(SBN24086698)and Michael Alvarez(SBN24068754).
