Lisa Rose, a former employee of Bureau Veritas North America Inc., has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, the City of Houston, and Alejandro Rodriguez. The complaint was filed on April 15, 2025, in the Harris County District Court. Rose alleges sexual harassment and discrimination during her tenure as a Project Administrator at Bureau Veritas, which she claims led to her wrongful termination.

According to the petition, Lisa Rose was employed by Bureau Veritas North America Inc., a company that had longstanding contracts with the City of Houston for staffing purposes. During her employment, Rose claims she was subjected to sexual harassment by Alejandro Rodriguez, who was then serving as an Inspector Program Manager with the City of Houston. She alleges that Rodriguez made explicit comments about her appearance and engaged in unwanted physical contact. Despite reporting these incidents to Bureau Veritas's Vice President Van Tran and Human Resources Representative Jessica Lassen on January 24, 2024, no effective remedial action was taken. Instead, she was advised to file a complaint with the City of Houston.

The lawsuit details several instances where both Bureau Veritas and the City of Houston allegedly failed to address Rose's complaints adequately. It states that after filing her complaints, Rose faced retaliation from both entities. Her duties were reduced by Bureau Veritas, she was instructed to work from home, and eventually terminated under what she describes as a pretextual elimination of her position. Meanwhile, the City of Houston is accused of contributing to a hostile work environment by allowing Rodriguez's behavior to continue unchecked.

Rose’s legal action includes multiple causes: assault and battery against Alejandro Rodriguez; sexual harassment against both Rodriguez and the City of Houston; sex discrimination against Bureau Veritas; hostile work environment claims against Bureau Veritas; and retaliation claims against Bureau Veritas for adverse employment actions following her reports of harassment.

In seeking justice through this lawsuit, Lisa Rose demands back pay and front pay along with compensatory damages for emotional distress and mental anguish. She also seeks punitive damages aimed at punishing the defendants for their alleged misconduct. Additionally, Rose requests attorney fees and interest on any awarded judgment amounts.

The case is being handled by Phytiema Johnson from The Law Office of P.A. Johnson PLLC in Houston. The case number is 2025-26403.
