District judge sues Galveston County judge for interfering with reinstatement of administrator

By JOHN SUAYAN GALVESTON – A local state district judge has pursued legal action against Galveston County Judge Mark Henry, claiming Henry violated orders in relation to the employment of a member of the former’s staff. Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox sued Henry in Galveston County 405th District Court on June 9.


Seaman sues vessel operator for fall through grate

A Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana resident brought a lawsuit against a pair of Delaware firms for alleged negligence in 2014. Brianell Duncan filed against Gulfmark Offshore Inc. and Gulfmark Americas Inc., doing business in Harris County, in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas June 4, claiming liability in a December 2014 workplace incident. According to the suit, Duncan was assigned to a marine vessel owned and operated by the defendants.

A Bonham resident brought a lawsuit against his employer for alleged negligence in 2014. George Steven Wallace filed against The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCS) in Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas June 5, claiming liability in a May 2014 workplace incident. According to the suit, Wallace was injured while performing work duties as a coal train conductor on May 11, 2014.

By DAVID YATES An individual defendant has been dismissed from a suit first brought against Motiva for not properly managing traffic and preventing a rear-end collision. On April 5, 2012, Diedric Gonzales filed suit against Eugene Albritton, Tammi Todd and Motiva in Jefferson County District Court. Jeff’s Truck and Equipment, Rosalita Medellin and Dwight Glover were later added as defendants.
