A Jefferson County resident filed a lawsuit against a couple alleging vehicular negligence in a 2015 collision that she claims damaged her automobile and left her with physical impairment.
Evelyn King filed a complaint against Sean Anderson of Orange, TX and Mary Anderson of Florida in Jefferson County District Court on June 11, claiming liability in a January automobile accident that allegedly injured the plaintiff, created property damage, and incurred expenses.
According to the suit, Sean Anderson was driving Mary Anderson’s vehicle on or about Jan. 15 in Jefferson County when he struck the plaintiff’s vehicle suddenly, purportedly causing neck, back and general body injuries.
The exact location or nature of the incident was not revealed.
The plaintiff claims the defendants were collectively negligent in failing to control speed, take evasive action, maintain a proper lookout and generally operate the vehicle safely. Additionally, Mary Anderson is faulted with negligent entrustment to an allegedly reckless and incompetent driver.
King alleges pain and suffering, anguish, impairment, disfigurement, loss of wages and earning capacity, and medical expenses, as well as property damage to her vehicle, towing and storage fees, loss of use and diminished value.
The plaintiff seeks over $200,000 in compensation, pre- and post-judgment interest; attorney’s fees; expenses, and costs.
