A Galveston County restaurant manager has sued a Dickinson man for alleged negligence involving a motor vehicle accident.
Timothy Owens filed suit against Nicholas Celis on Jan. 9 in Galveston County District Court, charging negligence.
According to the complaint, Owens was at work the night of May 3, 2014, and went outside to find that Celis had crashed his motorcycle into a car parked in the restaurant’s lot. Owens alleges the defendant knocked him to the ground while fleeing the scene, causing him permanent damage.
The suit says Celis was remiss by failing to control speed, not braking in time, operating the vehicle unsafely, fleeing the scene of an accident, and that he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Owens seeks $350,000 for pain and suffering, medical expenses, physical impairment and disfigurement and property damage. He is represented by attorneys Chad Pinkerton, Benjamin R. Roberts, J. Josh Collum and Scott P. Armstrong of the Pinkerton Law Firm in Houston.
