Homeowner accuses contractor of breach

Contractor

A Galveston County man has sued a contractor, alleging failure to properly fulfill a home improvement agreement.

Eric Karl Werner of Santa Fe, Texas, filed a lawsuit Jan.7 against Joe Sanford, also of Santa Fe, in Galveston County District Court, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Sanford was engaged to provide materials for and to construct a pole barn on Werner's property, and Werner paid in full for the project. The contractor failed to execute the building to Werner's satisfaction, the suit states, specifically faulty concrete and electrical work that caused damages to the building’s roof and foundation, necessitating demolition and rebuilding.

Werner seeks to recover costs incurred by the project’s alleged failure and seeks compensation for more than $22,000, restitution for attorney fees, expenses and costs. He is represented by attorney Michael L. Dahlenburg of Houston.

Galveston County District Court case number: CV-0073469.
