Plaintiffs Johnny and Rebecca Grove have brought a toxic tort claim against 18 defendant companies, alleging benzene exposure.
The suit was filed Feb. 23 in Jefferson County District Court.

The suit further alleges the defendants knew of the dangers yet still exposed workers to the harmful chemical without warning.
Johnny is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and disfigurement.
The plaintiffs are also suing for exemplary damages.
Beaumont attorney Tina Bradley of Hobson & Bradley represents them.
Judge Kent Walston, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
