An electrical supplier brought suit against two businesses for alleged breach of contract in a monetary dispute.

Crawford Electric Supply Co. Inc., headquartered in Delaware with business in Texas, filed suit against Bayou Development LLC of Friendswood and 1538 Beachtown LLC, of Houston in Galveston County District Court on March 5.

According to the suit, Crawford sold electrical material to a third party (Gulf Shores Electric, or “GSE") for the construction of the Bay Area RV Park project and the American Villas project in Galveston with a credit agreement. GSE was general contractor for both projects.

The Bay Area RV Park project is on land owned by Bayou; the American Villas project is on land owned by 1538 Beachtown. The complaint states that neither GSE nor Bayou has paid for the furnished materials. Crawford recorded an affidavit claiming a lien on the first property to secure the $17,315.16 debt, and he secured a lien for $7,237.81 on the second property. The plaintiff seeks foreclosure of liens against both properties, according to court documents; demand letters for both were recorded Jan. 28.

Citing liability, unjust enrichment, and requesting judgment awarding funds due, Crawford seeks: up to $100,000 compensation for damages, attorney’s fees, expenses and costs. The plaintiff is represented by W. Jason Walker and J. Michael Schiff of Andrew Meyers in Houston.
