A Jefferson County woman filed a complaint against an air conditioning company, alleging vehicular negligence in a February auto accident.
Kayla Danell Johnson submitted an application for a temporary restraining order against Century Air Conditioning Supply L.P., doing business as Johnson Air Conditioning Supply Co., of Houston, in Jefferson County District Court on March 2.
According to court documents, Johnson’s vehicle was rear-ended on Feb. 27 by an employee of the defendant on Interstate 10 in Beaumont. The claim asserts that the driver, who was navigating a tractor-trailer, failed to control his speed and is guilty of causing the collision. Johnson was transported to a hospital for multiple injuries.
Johnson requests an order for the respondent to refrain from altering or modifying the rig involved in the accident in order to preserve any evidence that might be gained from its inspection, according to court documents.
The application seeks to preserve the integrity of any data, personnel files and other potentially relevant information until a hearing date is established.
At this time the complainant seeks: compensation for attorney’s fees, expenses and costs. She is represented by attorney Clay Dugas of Clay Dugas Associates of Beaumont.
