Hit-and-run victim sues insurance provider

Matthew Willis

Annie Lemaire is suing her auto insurance provider, Mid-Century Insurance, for refusing to pay the claim she filed following a hit-and-run.

According to Lemaire's petition, filed with the Jefferson County District Court on April 27, on May 8, 2006, she was injured in a hit-and-run motor vehicle incident.

"Plaintiff was covered by a policy of insurance issued by the defendant," the suit said. "As there is no other insurance coverage known to compensate plaintiff for her injuries, damages and losses. Plaintiff is entitled to recover over and from defendant."

She asserts a claim for pre-judgment and post-judgment interest for all elements of damages, the suit said.

Lemaire is represented by attorney Matthew R. Willis of the Provost Umphrey Law Firm.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th Judicial District, will preside over the case.

Case No. B179-201
