A total of six new lawsuits were filed against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims in Jefferson County throughout the week of Aug. 31- Sept. 4.
The following complaints were filed:
Rebecca Bellard, doing business as Skeeters, of 5553 Dowling Road in Sabine Pass alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Bellard is represented by Gerald W. Eddins of Eddins and Bennett Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B184-817.
Coastal Welding Supply alleges Westchester Surplus Lines Insurance Company, CRC Insurance Services Inc. and J.M. Risk Management Company of the Southwest Inc. denied its claim for damages to its rental equipment. Coastal Welding Supply lent the equipment to R&R Marine and Maintenance, but the equipment was destroyed after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Walter Dorsey of 1141 60th St. in Port Arthur alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied his claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol County denied the claim after it assigned ICA Adjusters and adjuster Jade Saucier to investigate. Dorsey will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Kenneth Hillman of 1831 Stilwell Blvd. in Port Arthur alleges National Lloyds Insurance Company denied at least a portion of his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied the claim after it hired Compass Adjusting Services to investigate. Hillman will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Paul and Vicki Miller of 1710 Chambless Drive in Beaumont allege Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol County denied the claim after it hired ICA Adjusters and adjusters Evan Wheeler, Dawn Mulkey and John Burton to investigate. The Millers will be represented by Gregory F. Dianne and Anthony Simon of 2270 Evalon in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association minimized their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA minimized the damages after it hired Crawford and Company to investigate. John Pat Parsons and Cindy L. McLendon of Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing them. Phyllis Wheeler of 5522 Fulbright Road in Beaumont Texas Windstorm Insurance Association undervalued her claims for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13.
