A total of 11 new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, July 19-23, 2010.
The following complaints were filed:
Jovita Banda and Guillermo Sanchez 1605 Ave. F in Beaumont allege Texas Farmers Insurance Company denied their claim for foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Harry and Marina Brown of 2124 58th St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, wind, water, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Carl Chaisson of 3995 Houston St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof, wind, water, structural and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
