A Beaumont man has filed suit against the driver he claims failed to yield to traffic at a stop sign, causing a collision.
Lindsey Young claims he was driving on Elinor Street and proceeding through the intersection at Fifth Street in Beaumont on March 10, 2008, when defendant Bryan K. Boggs, who was driving a vehicle owned by defendant Maudry Williams and insured by defendant Clyde Williams, failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and crashed into Young.
Because of the accident, Young incurred medical costs, lost earnings and his earning capacity, suffered physical impairment and pain and endured mental anguish, according to the complaint filed Feb. 12 in Jefferson County District Court. In addition, he incurred property damage, the suit states.
Boggs negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply his brakes to avoid a collision and failed to proceed through the intersection when it was safe to do so, the complaint says.
Young is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.
