A total of six new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Aug. 2-6, 2010.
Suzanne Baker of 1640 Quail Run in Beaumont alleges State Farm Lloyds denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. State Farm denied her claim after it assigned adjustor Michael Gallier to investigate, according to the complaint. Baker will be represented by Gerald W. Laura Garcia of 6112 16th St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied a portion of her claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Mike and Amanda Molley of 2618 Ave. E in Nederland allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for the total destruction of their home after Hurricane Ike lifted it off the piers on Sept. 13, 2008. Eric and Zenobia Payne of 4300 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association failed to properly and timely investigate and pay their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
