Unsafe lane change blamed for collision

Grossman

A Harris County man says he experienced physical pain and suffering after a driver made an unsafe lane change, causing a collision.

Thomas Williams filed a lawsuit Aug. 12 in Jefferson County District Court against Sandra Major and Latabita King.

Williams claims he rode in a vehicle Robert Chisom drove near 5300 College St. in Beaumont on May 8 when King, who drove a vehicle owned by Major, made an unsafe lane change and cut off Chisom's vehicle, causing a collision.

As a result of the accident, Williams incurred medical costs, suffered mental anguish, lost earnings and his earning capacity and experienced physical disfigurement and physical impairment, according to the complaint.

In his complaint, Williams seeks a judgment for the full amount of his damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

Joel M. Grossman of Houston will be representing him.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-531.
