An Orange woman claims a Houston woman negligently failed to take evasive action after she slowed down on an Interstate 10 entrance ramp.
Brandy Anderson filed suit against Paige Austin on Aug. 19 in Orange County District Court.
According to the petition, on June 25, 2009, Anderson was driving on the I-10 on-ramp near Denver Street in Vidor.
She "was yielding to I-10 traffic when suddenly and without warning, Austin failed to control her speed ... causing the collision."
Anderson also alleges Austin negligently failed to take evasive action and keep a proper lookout.
She is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Provost Umphrey attorney John Lane is representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.
