Construction companies in dispute over $50,000 bill

A construction company sued another construction company, seeking to regain nearly $50,000 for materials it says it supplied.

Pamela Dodson, doing business as LD Construction, filed a lawsuit Aug. 18 in Jefferson County District Court against K.A.T. Excavation and Construction.

Dodson claims K.A.T. promised to pay her for goods and services she sold and provided the company. However, despite Dodson's demands, K.A.T. has refused to pay the $49,260 it owes, according to the complaint.

In addition to the money Dodson claim K.A.T. owes her, she seeks interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just.

Lance Fox of Creighton, Fox, Johnson and Mills in Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-607.
