S&L Trucking sued for employee's auto collision

Port Arthur resident Anasha Bush has filed suit against S&L Trucking and one of its employees, Ravi Koosyial, alleging Koosyial swerved his dump truck into her vehicle last May.

The suit was filed Nov. 29 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court papers show that on May 18, 2009, Bush was traveling north on U.S. Highway 69 alongside Koosyial when he "attempted to change lanes from the left lane to the right and struck her vehicle."

"The impact caused plaintiff's vehicle to spin several times and come to rest after coming into contact with the median," the suit states, adding that Koosyial allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and safely change lanes.

The suit accuses S&L of negligently entrusting one of its dump trucks to Koosyial.

Bush is suing for her alleged past and future mental anguish, pain, impairment, medical expenses and lost wages.

She is represented by Dallas attorney Kimberly Stovall.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
