Doc files harassment suit against Medical Center

Medical Center of Southeast Texas

Dr. Saeed Ally has filed suit against the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, claiming the facility permitted a fellow physician, Dr. Otto Miller, to continuously harass him.

The suit was filed Dec. 22 in Jefferson County District Court.

Last week, the Southeast Texas Record reported that Rachel Kimar, a nurse at the Medical Center, also filed suit against Dr. Otto Miller alleging violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

In that suit, Kimar alleges Dr. Miller, a thoracic surgeon at the Medical Center, engaged in a pattern of malicious activity against" her and Dr. Ally, the plaintiff of the most recent suit.

Apparently, Dr. Miller harassed the two plaintiffs by reporting their behavior to the Texas Medical Board, exposing Kimar's medical history in the process.

Neither suit states what Dr. Miller reported to the board, or how the act exposed Kimar's medical history.

Both plaintiffs accuse Dr. Miller of needless harassment.

Dr. Ally claims the Medical Center should have stopped Dr. Miller and is suing the organization for past and future lost earnings.

He is represented by Beaumont attorney John Morgan.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is presiding over the case.
