Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Dec. 13-31, 2010.

The following complaints have been filed:

  • Oscar and Joyce Captain of 3875 Bryan Drive in Beaumont allege Texas Farmers Insurance Company denied their claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Captains will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-017.

  • Charles and Alberta Fuselier of 3738 Drexel Ave. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Fuseliers will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: E188-991.

  • Arnold and Sheila Jones of 3929 Seventh Ave. in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, wind, water and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Jones will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-028.

  • Isaiah and Judy Little of 3130 Cherry Drive in Beaumont allege Voyager Indemnity Insurance Company denied their claim for contents, foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Littles will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E188-193.

  • Scottish Rite Masonic Temple Doric 95 AF and AM and Mount Gideon 97 AF and AM of 1601 Dequeen Blvd. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for contents, foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The plaintiffs will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B189-031.
