Beaumont company sues to recover $40K payment

A Beaumont company claims a Dallas corporation owes it more than $40,000 for products it delivered to the corporation.

Maverick International filed a lawsuit June 10 in Jefferson County District Court against Antero Resources Appalachian Corp.

In its complaint, Maverick claims Antero ordered goods and services from Maverick, so Maverick sent the items to Antero along with an invoice. However, Antero has yet to repay Maverick, according to the complaint.

"After allowing all just and lawful offsets, payments, and credits, Antero Resources Appalachian Corporation owes $40,718.50," the suit states.

In addition to the money it says Antero owes it, Maverick seeks pre-judgment interest at the maximum legal rate, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Robert B. Dunham of Sheldon and Dunham in Beaumont will be representing it.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
