Passenger sues driver over Jefferson County wreck

A Jefferson County woman claims she sustained injuries during a collision.

Lashae Ashley Lavergne filed a lawsuit June 23 in Jefferson County District Court against Lashawn Paris Lavergne.

Lashae Lavergne claims she rode as a passenger in a vehicle Lashawn Lavergne drove near the 5900 block of U.S. 69 in Port Arthur on Aug. 13, 2010, when the collision occurred. Lashae Lavergne does not specify how the accident happened.

Because of the collision, Lashae Lavergne sustained injuries, incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and mental anguish and sustained physical impairment, according to the complaint filed June 23 in Jefferson County District Court.

In her complaint, Lashae Lavergne seeks an unspecified judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

John A. Carwile of The Law Offices of John A. Carwile in Houston will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
