A woman claims she incurred medical costs when a driver failed to stay in his lane and struck her vehicle.
Allison L. Lovelady filed a lawsuit Aug. 25 in Jefferson County District Court against PCL Industrial Construction, doing business as Teton Industrial Construction, and Jeffery Keith Trahan.
In her complaint, Lovelady claims she drove north on Spur 215 in Port Arthur on Dec. 23 when Trahan, who drove a vehicle for his employer, Teton Industrial Construction, improperly changed lanes and collided with Lovelady's vehicle.
In addition to her medical costs, Lovelady sustained mental anguish, physical pain, suffering and disability and lost her enjoyment of life, according to the complaint. In addition, she lost earnings and her enjoyment of life and sustained physical impairment, the suit states.
She blames Trahan for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to stay in his lane, failed to exercise due care, made an unsafe lane change and drove in a negligent manner.
In her complaint, Lovelady seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.
