A Beaumont man claims he incurred medical costs after two drivers collided with each other.
Perry Pete filed a lawsuit Dec. 20 in Jefferson County District Court against Hughes H. Matondo and Laquanda Rennell Pelican.
In his suit, Pete claims he was riding in Matondo's vehicle on June 22, 2010, which was entering Interstate 10, when it collided with Pelican's automobile. Matondo and Pelican blame each other for causing the collision, saying the other changed lanes, according to the complaint.
In addition to his medical costs, Pete experienced physical pain, suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish and disfigurement and lost his earning capacity, the suit states.
He blames Matondo and Pelican for causing the collision, saying they negligently failed to control their speed, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep a safe distance between their vehicles and others and failed to swerve to avoid a collision.
In his complaint, Pete is seeking actual damages within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
