Wanda Bonura has filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of Joe Bonura, seeking testimony concerning his employment and benzene exposure history with E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company.
The petition was filed Dec. 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, Bonura was diagnosed with lymphoma. The disease is expected to progress and prove fatal.
The testimony sought is Bonura’s employment history and benzene exposure history at DuPont.
The petitioner has a good faith belief that a wrongful death suit will be initiated, the petition states.
The plaintiffs are represented by Beaumont attorney Keith Hyde of the Provost Umphrey Law Firm.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
