Woman slips in restroom, sues Café Del Rio

While in the restroom at a Mexican food restaurant in Beaumont, Shareka Broussard claims she slipped and fell.

On Dec. 17 she filed suit against Cafe Del Rio, doing business as CDR Beaumont, in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 16, 2010, Broussard was dining with co-workers at the Beaumont restaurant. While in bathroom, she slipped and fell on an unspecified liquid substance and injured herself.

The suit accuses CDR of negligently failing to warn her of the dangerous condition and inspect and maintain its premises.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and lost wages.

Beaumont attorney Todd LeBlanc represents her.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. E193-719
