Compass Bank sues contractor for $137K past due loan

Seeking to collect more than $137,000 on a delinquent loan, Compass Bank has filed suit against Robert Hardy Sr. and his company, Hardy Contractors.

The suit was filed Jan. 22 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, Hardy applied for a renewal loan for equipment financing with Compass Bank. Compass approved the loan and advanced him funds.

“Defendant defaulted by failing to repay the loan, and now owes the full amount of the unpaid principal balance plus all accrued and unpaid interest,” the suit states.

As of Oct. 24, 2012, the amount owed is $137,672.70.

Compass is seeking a judgment in that amount, plus $1,500 in attorney’s fees.

Frisco attorney Shawn Brady represents it.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
