Recent lawsuits against insurance companies filed in Jefferson County, Jan. 28 - Feb. 1

A total of four new lawsuits were filed in Jefferson County District Court against insurance companies for hurricane, wind storm and water damage claims, Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2013.

The following complaints were filed: 

• Rafael and Maria Figueroa of 3139 42nd St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association and Reggie Warren denied their claim for roof and interior damages caused to their home during Hurricane Ike on Sept. 13, 2008. The Figueroas will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E193-884.

• Rosario Figueroa of 1028 Brazos Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange and David Maxey denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her home during a severe wind storm on June 6. Figueroa will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly Enyart of Speights & Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: B193-880.

• Saul Gonzalez of 5233 Ninth St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange and Andrew Duchamp denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after a severe windstorm struck on June 6, 2011. Gonzalez will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and T. Nicole Littles of Speights & Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: A193-878.

• Sergio Zapata of 2204 Norma St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange and David Maxey denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after a severe windstorm struck on June 6, 2011. Zapata will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Joan M. Marron of Speights & Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D193-877.
