Beaumont local Bridgette Robinson has filed a lawsuit against Total Petrochemical & Refining USA, alleging she tripped in a poorly lit parking lot.
The suit was filed Feb. 21 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 21, 2011, Robinson, a contracted employee, was performing labor at Total’s premises.
She arrived at the facility’s parking lot early that morning and was making her way to the bus when she tripped over a dark wooden pole.
“Plaintiff alleges that the area in question was dark and not appropriately lit,” the suit states. “Plaintiff further alleges that the defendant did not provide an appropriate walkway in order to board onto the buses in question.”
The suit further accuses Total of negligently failing to provide a safe place to work.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages.
Beaumont attorney Tommy Yeates of the Moore Landrey law firm represents her.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
