Over the past few years, the Southeast Texas Record has reported on several lawsuits filed against the Gold Club, an area exotic dancing establishment.

On Aug. 5, Scottsdale Insurance Co. filed suit against Fannett Entertainment (doing business as Gold Club) in Jefferson County District Court, alleging the establishment has not paid the deductible on two settled claims.

According to the lawsuit, the parties entered into an insurance contract providing liability coverage from Oct. 6, 2011, to Oct. 6, 2012. The policy included a $10,000 deductible for each liquor liability damage claim paid.

“Plaintiff paid out over $900,000 on two different claims, each with a $10,000 deductible, which defendant refused to pay,” the suit states.

Scottsdale is suing for $20,000 in damages, interest and attorney’s fees.

Attorney Amy Wright of the Irving Law Office of Driskell & Wright represents it.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
