HOUSTON (Legal Newsline) – A legal reform group has formally endorsed Republican Rick Galindo as its choice to be the next representative of Texas House District 117.

On Feb. 3, Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC issued a press release announcing its endorsement and stating that Galindo is an accomplished young conservative leader with a solid business background.

“He understands the critical importance of lawsuit reform in creating jobs and strengthening the Texas economy,” the press release states. “TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.”

Galindo will face off against former Rep. John Garza in the coming primary for the right to challenge Democratic state Rep. Phil Cortez.

According to the press release, Galindo is currently the risk manager for Spectrum Association Management. For the past seven years, he has been an officer and director of a global non-profit, the Risk and Insurance Management Society.

House District 117 includes part of Bexar County.

TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform, the state’s largest civil justice reform organization.
