Seaman sues after injured while working aboard The M/V Black Jack IV

A seaman is suing after sustaining injuries while working aboard a vessel.

Aaron Catching filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 in the Galveston County District Court against The M/V Black Jack IV LLC, Katie's Seafood LLC and Katie's Seafood Market LLC. 

According to the complaint, on Feb. 1, Catching was seriously injured by a large block of ice while performing his regular duties aboard The M/V Black Jack IV.

The plaintiff states his injuries occurred when he was forced to chip ice in an unsafe environment, in an unsafe manner and in unsafe sea conditions.

Catching is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by attorneys Sean E. O’Rourke and Nicholas Simon of Simon-O’Rourke PC and Joseph S. Jaworski of Jaworski Law Firm.
