Apffel darrell

A woman is suing a driver after she was injured in a vehicle accident.

Mary Kathleen Monroe filed a lawsuit Feb. 26 in the Galveston County Court against Meghan Jo McCutcheon and Steven McCutcheon, citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Monroe was traveling west in the 800 W. Freeway 517 on Dec. 17, 2012, when Meghan Jo McCutcheon ran a red light and struck her vehicle, causing Monroe to sustain injuries.

Steven McCutcheon is being sued because it was his car and he should have known that Meghan Jo McCutcheon was an inexperienced and reckless driver.

Monroe is seeking damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus a sum in excess of jurisdictional limits for medical, hospital and drug services, pre-judgment and post judgment interest at the highest rate, and court costs.

Monroe is being represented by Darrell A. Apffel of Bettison, Doyle, Apffel & Guarino P.C.
