Corner Store sued after fall incident

A Santa Fe resident is suing after tripping on a floor mat at a convenience store, resulting in injury.


Curtis Neal Peyton filed a lawsuit March 19 in the Galveston County Court against Skipper Beverage Co. LLC, doing business as Corner Store No. 2614, citing negligence.

The complaint states on Dec. 8, 2012, Peyton was on the defendant's premises at 12350 Highway 6, Santa Fe, when he tripped and fell on a floor mat that was not flush with the ground.

The plaintiff contends the defendant's negligence caused his injuries.

Peyton is seeking monetary relief of more than $100,000, but not more than $200,000.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by attorney Jonathan C. Kieschnick of The Crim Law Firm PC.
