H.E.B. sued after woman falls on slippery sidewalk

A Brazoria County resident is suing after sustaining injuries while leaving an area grocery store.


Trena Webster filed a lawsuit April 3 in the Galveston County Court against H.E.B. Inc., H.E. Butt Grocery Co., H.E. Butt Store Property Co. Number One, HEB Branch Co. Inc., HEB Retailers LLC, HEB Beverage Co. LLC and H.E.B. Food Stores Inc., citing negligence, premise liability and respondeat superior.

The complaint states Webster was injured Feb. 21, 2013, while on the defendants' premises at 303 E. Parkwood Village Drive in Friendswood. The plaintiff states she sustained injuries when she slipped and fell on a slippery surfaced sidewalk, causing her to land on her back.

Webster is seeking at least $200,000 in damages, but less than $1 million.

She is being represented in the case by Houston attorneys Brian E. White and Jeffrey M. Stern of Stern Law Group.
