Wrecked car3

A man is suing a driver over injuries sustained in a Beaumont traffic crash.

Norman W. Denson filed a lawsuit May 15 in the Jefferson County District Court against Ruby S. Welch, citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Denson was at the intersection of Concord Road and Beard Street in Beaumont on Nov. 18, when Welch drove her vehicle into Denson's vehicle.

According to Denson, Welch was speeding, not exercising due care, didn’t look, didn’t keep the vehicle under control, failed to swerve to avoid a crash, didn’t use her brakes, didn’t try to evade a collision and followed too closely.

Denson is seeking damages between $100,000 and $200,000 to cover medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, lost wages, court costs and other relief as deemed proper.

He is being represented by Jeffrey C. Hilton of Packard Lapray of Beaumont.
