Man alleges construction company utilized used parts in renovation process

A man alleges a construction company he hired to perform renovation work utilized used products on the site.

James Caffey filed a lawsuit Sept. 11 in Galveston County District Court against Dickie Jasper and Jasper Construction.

In his complaint, Caffey alleges he hired Jasper Construction to perform renovation work at 6809 Fairway, Galveston, which included installing air conditioning and plumbing components.

"Despite having been paid for the work, some, or all, of the work was not performed correctly, including work on the plumbing system," the suit states. "Additionally, it was discovered that Jasper Construction had installed used materials at the property, instead of the new materials that plaintiff had paid for."

Caffey alleges breach of contract and fraud against Jasper Construction.

He seeks actual damages, plus attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
