Bank says Man owes nearly $40K on truck loan

A bank has filed suit against the man whom it alleges failed to pay nearly $40,000 for a Dodge Ram truck.

Ally Bank filed a lawsuit Sept. 16 in Jefferson County District Court against Jason Chambliss.

In its complaint, Ally Bank alleges Chambliss purchased a 2013 Dodge Ram from Mike Smith Dodge on July 20, 2013. Ally Bank financed the purchase with $41,277, according to the complaint.

"After giving defendant all offsets and credits to which defendant is entitled, there is a remaining balance due and unpaid on the contract in the amount of $39,774.80, which includes finance charges and late charges through Sept. 11, 2014," the suit states.

In its complaint, Ally Bank alleges breach of contract against Chambliss.

In addition to the money it alleges it is owed, Ally Bank seeks pre-judgment interest, foreclosure on the truck, attorney fees, post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Attorney Kimberly P. Harris of Beasley, Hightower and Harris in Dallas will represent Ally Bank.
